Operation Mordecai High Risk Missions Camp

Purpose:

Christians everywhere are called to go to the ends of the earth with the life-giving gospel of Jesus Christ. When counting the costs of going, many stumble when considering the challenges associated with how to enter an antagonistic foreign environment, how to build and maintain connections, or simply how surviving day-to-day life securely. Our Mission Training Camp is meant to equip and encourage all called to carry the gospel light to people in some of the most difficult living conditions on earth. Many of these are dark places where the light can shine the brightest if it gets there. People living in war-torn, hostile, or poverty-stricken regions are in desperate need of Jesus. Who will go?

By interweaving the gospel and spiritual development into training that equips students with the knowledge and experiences needed to thrive in austere environments, we aim to inoculate them to what many overlook in preparing. Many Christians know sound doctrine, but understand very little about living outside secure places like home or school. Not only does Mission Training Camp prepare students for life and service while on the field, it also gives them confidence, encouraging them to follow through with initial deployment.

Course Objectives:

• Learn emergency medical response
• Practice principles of physical security.
• Learn how to conduct pre-trip country & risk assessments.
• How to conduct covert meetings.
• Learn how to secure communications and sensitive data with best practices & principles of cyber security
• Gain essential survival skills.
• Experience foreign culture.
• Develop a heart for the unreached in austere environments

Requirements:

• Maturity
• Positive learning attitude
• Physically fit and prepared for the following:
  • Endure hiking (5+ miles a day) with a pack weighing 40lbs+
  • Lifting 20lbs and more
  • Physically capable of sitting, squatting, standing, walking/running for short and long periods at a time.

Operation Mordecai exists to ensure that the Word of the Lord has a free course. We are a nonprofit ministry focusing on training churches and ministries in security concepts that enable them to be well-trained, prudent, and resilient.
